New educational content coming soon...

With over 30 years in the music business, and unparalleled big band and light music orchestral experience,

Matt is offering 30 or 60 minute one-to-one sessions via online video link, with a view to working on the stylistic approach to Big Band/Swing singing.

Remember 'easy listening is not necessarily easy singing'

Male or female, whatever your age, let Matt help you unlock your potential.

In the last few years Matt has been approached by countless individuals as well as by educational establishments for advice on performing the music of the Great American Songbook and Swing era.

He'd now like to share some of the knowledge he's gained to benefit your students.

Matt is offering a swing era vocal masterclass, in which your students will get the opportunity to work with him to build their skills for performance of this genre of music.

Together they’ll work on their interpretation of, and connection to, the lyrics of vintage popular song, building light and shade into their performance.

Effects of body language, phrasing, timing and any other aspects necessary to help them with their stylistic approach to performing this material are explored.

These skills are completely transferable to all sizes of ensemble and most genres of music.

This isn’t a technical vocal training workshop.  You’ll already have vocal tutors for that.

Aside from advice on warming up, general vocal health and the avoidance of tension, the sessions are run purely to develop students’ stylistic skills in the performance of the songs of the Big Band and Swing era.

Masterclasses can be tailored to suit your needs/number of pupils/time constraints

Matt is a very engaging and inspiring teacher and I am really enjoying my lessons with him. My singing performance and confidence has improved quickly under his expert direction.

Matt provides excellent feedback and tips on what to concentrate on to enable me to sing to the best of my ability as an aspiring jazz soloist.

It really is amazing and a pleasure to have the opportunity to learn from a high profile vocalist such as Matt.

...his guidance is invaluable...

hope he can come back again.
